Building a Better Community
La-Z-Boy Comfort Studio on Aberdeen Avenue was opened in 2002 and as part of the Island Furniture Association, it follows the same mandate.
In 1979 the late Paul E. Walsh founded Island Furniture, a furniture manufacturing company employing individuals with special needs.
What started off as a handmade manufacturing company to help others, has turned into a not-for-profit furniture retail establishment that to date has donated over $5 million to initiatives throughout Newfoundland and Labrador creating over 1500 jobs. We are not just furniture- when you shop at La-Z-Boy, you will not only walk away happy with your purchase but knowing your money helped others throughout the province.
As part of the Island Furniture Association, no one individual owns the store but rather a Director of Operations helps run the association. A board of directors works with agencies across the island to help determine where the profits will help individuals and how it will be distributed.
As a furniture retailer, we offer high quality products with solidified brand names as well as an association with Island Furniture, that is well rooted in this province’s history and it’s communities. Most of our products have a limited life time warranty and we offer a white glove delivery service.
